Feb 23, 2012 - Yes and no. Drawing from observation and drawing from memory are two totally different skills. It is best to practice both. To get better at memory, learn human proportions.......for observation life drawing is best.

Feb 23, 2012 - I just bought a Derwent 38 sketching collections yesterday. It contained charcoal pencils with different tones, and a shading stump and some charcoal at different tones. It also had a sandpaper block. Can you explain now or do a video tutorial on how to use the stumps, sandpaper block and charcoal please?
