I did a 7 day protein shake fast where I replaced breakfast and lunch with protein shakes, ate healthy snacks, and ate a P90X plan dinner. I feel awesome and my energy level is great. I lost 1.8 pounds, .5% body fat, and 1/2" from my waist. I had to be very careful about taking in enough carbs and fat in addition to the protein.

Feb 21, 2012 - Yes indeed!! In my unprofessional and uneducated opinion, those results sound amazing for your size. The half inch from the belly is sweet! I'd like to start this type of "fast" for a week or two but I think I'm going to go the route of brown rice, chicken, and broccoli for lunch and dinner. Well done for sticking with it. Was it difficult to acclimate to the liquids for lunch and dinner, even though you added some fruits/veggies? You've got me excited to try it 1st then change over.

Feb 21, 2012 - Thank you! It was not too difficult since I knew it was for a week. I made hearty shakes for breakfast and lunch and found them to be satisfying. With the controlled snacks and a set amount of calories for those meals, it helped me to get my eating under control. My dinners were pretty simple so I knew how to count them...fish, chicken, or pork, with a variety of vegetables and some healthy carbs (wild rice). Good luck with your plan!
