Thank you for expressing interest in our cattle. We are excited with the direction our herd has taken in both the Angus and Sim Angus divisions. To give you a little background on our operation, Hall Stock Farm is owned and operated by Zac, Noah (wife Katlin), Levi and Ian Hall, along with our parents Curt and Leann. Zac's first Angus cow was purchased in 1997 from Steve Brooks of Bowman, ND as the beginning of an FFA project. We have since added females from the late Vance, Connie and Dru Uden at TC Ranch, Franklin, NE and Dale Luhman of Gladstone, ND. Our Simmental cowherd began by purchasing females from Keller's Broken Heart Ranch, Mandan, ND and Werning Cattle Co., Emery, SD. We are very proud of our commercial Angus females. Our commercial cows carry a heavy influence from the Tastad family of McCumber Angus Ranch in Rolette, ND. These commercial Angus cows are bred to Simmental bulls for the production of Sim Angus halfbloods. What began as an FFA project has evolved into the start of a business. Our focus has never changed: We utilize Angus and Simmental genetics that have a reputation for producing easy-keeping, structurally sound cattle without compromising eye appeal, muscle, or fertility. We have also retained our steer crop the last two years and have been very pleased with their kill data.Our registered cows run alongside our commercial females and do not receive any extra feed other than hay grown locally. When the cows come home from pasture we turn them out on stubble fields where they graze until they are prohibited by snowfall. We do not creep feed our calves and the bulls are developed on a ration targeting an average daily gain of around 3.5 pounds per day. We can assure you that the bulls are not over-fed as they are hard muscled individuals ready to cover ground and service cows. Our policy is to keep the bulls free of charge until you are ready to turn them out. We will then have the bulls semen checked before they are delivered and they sell with a one year breeding guarantee.We have Igenity DNA profiles available on our replacement females and sale cattle. The comprehensive Igenity profile offers information on 12 economically relevant traits and we would be happy to help you make more informed selection decisions based on these results. An additional bonus to buying bulls from Hall Stock Farm is that they have been tested negative for Persistently Infected-Bovine Viral Diarrhea virus (PI-BVD) and the cow herd has also tested negative for Johne's Disease. We want to assure you that you are buying cattle with from a program that places a priority on herd health along with performance.There is always an open invitation for you to come out and sort through our cow herd.
